This week the town of Oro Valley will hold 2 Zoom meetings that include discussion of possible actions regarding the closed Vistoso Golf course.

The first meeting is a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting TONIGHT, Tuesday, November 17th at 6:00 p.m. This meeting will discuss the consultants’ report addressing the park recreational needs of Oro Valley.  The report does not recommend  Rancho Vistoso investments.  The funding of these plans comes from our tax dollars. Based on surveys and community input, the top priorities of the Oro Valley community are investments in open space and trails. The report from PROS consulting ignores these priority needs.

The second meeting is the Town Council meeting Wednesday, November 18th at 6:00 p.m.  The agenda includes 2 items that impact the Vistoso Golf course.  The first is “DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING THE CLOSED VISTOSO GOLF PROPERTY.” The second is “DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE DIRECTION TO STAFF REGARDING THE PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN UPDATE.”

It is important that the town leaders receive input and understand the desires of our community.  Your attendance at these meetings provides the opportunity for your input.  Please attend.

The agendas for each meeting and call-in or Zoom instructions are located on the town’s website, orovalleyaz.gov/ then select “Calendar” tab.  Then select “Parks and Recreation Advisory Board” for tonight or “Town Council Regular Session” for tomorrow night.
