We recently updated the Fairfield pool chlorinator.  This equipment was a 2020 Reserve Budget item.  In our Budget and Reserve projection model (thanks to Roy Hoff) we can forecast an item’s life expectancy and projected cost of replacement.  In this case the final cost was within 7%.

The new chlorinator has a larger chlorine pellet capacity as well as increased water volume capacity. Both of these features ensure that the tablets are dissolved completely which allows the system to meet the increased demand during the hot summer weather.  Ultraviolet light, plentiful here in Oro Valley, is detrimental to chlorine levels in pools.  This sunlight can reduce the chlorine levels by as much as 90% in two hours.

Happy swimming!
